Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family in their time of mourning.

Her Majesty has been the monarch since her accession to the throne in 1952, well before the club was founded in 1968. Many of the current club members have known no other sovereign during their lives.

King Charles III ascended to the throne upon the passing of The Queen. Long Live The King.

Stanley Soanes

Stanley Soanes

The funeral of club member Stanley Soanes, was held 7th July at Landican Crematorium.

Stan had been a member of Caldy Bowmen for many years and was well liked within the club. He was a former member of the club committee, having represented the interests of our junior members at the meetings and ensuring their needs were accommodated. He acted as a mentor for new members, whether young or old.

The Club was well represented at his funeral and fourteen members, wearing club shirts, formed a 'Guard of Honour' as his coffin entered the chapel for his funeral service.

The thoughts of the Club and all of its members are with his wife, Marj, and his family during this difficult time.

Chester Indoor Portsmouth

Congratulations to Sam Hamlett who claimed 2nd Compound Lady award at the Chester Indoor Individual Portmouth, hosted by Cheshire County Bowmen.

This is a very good result for Sam who shot a personal best score in her round.

Charity Frostbite Shoot

Caldy Bowmen will be holding a Charity Frostbite Shoot on Saturday 1st January 2022.

This will be a great way to blow away the cobwebs from the New Year's Eve celebrations, while also raising money for charity.

The nominated charity this year is the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Charity.
